Learn Your History Obama!

I am sure many of you watched the congressional address last night. Most of it was vague fluff as usual, but there was one point that I laughed out loud. Obama was trying to rally the crowd behind American industry. I am all for it. Unfortunately, he got one very important fact wrong, that blew the whole sentiment. At the end of a long and forceful paragraph about revitalizing American Auto, Obama said "Auto jobs belong in America, where the Automobile was invented!" Of course, everyone jumped up and started cheering, which made me sick after a while. I hate to tell you Obama but the internal combustion engine and the automobile where invented in German in 1885 by Karl Benz. The four wheeled vehicle was invented in 1890, same place, same person. Ooops.

This may seem small, but we are talking about a nationally televised speech that was written hours, if not, days before hand, not off the cuff.

Um, Quentin, I think that everyone should get history correct, but our country just suffered through 8 years of a president who couldn't string a sentence together without some ridiculous malapropism or mangling of the language. So keeping a sense of perspective, I think we're far better off with a President who writes books (and his own speeches) versus the Inane One who didn't seem to know what a book was. Remember our history, Quentin!

I am so sick of people comparing one ding dong to a bigger ding dong, instead of just admitting when someone messed up, or is a ding dong. Every time I critique Obama the only defense an Obama supporter has is to bash Bush. Bush is old news, yeah, he sucked. But him sucking doesn't make Obama great. Please quit looking at the president in relative terms and look at the current facts, the current situation, the current screw ups. Shoot, if all we had to do was have a president better than Bush any one could have ran and been considered "good", or "change" or "hope". Give me a break with the Bush defense.

When I screw up at work, I am not off the hook just because my co-worker screwed up worse. I am punished for my own sins, not for my co-workers (Bush's) transactions.
